Optical packet data transport

The metropolitan area network supports a highly diverse set of services and the needs of multi-site customers. Neptune devices are a platform supporting packet transmission, optical transport, and TDM. Packet services such as L3 and L2 are transported using IP-MPLS and MPLS-TP, giving service providers the freedom to choose the most appropriate technology. The Neptune series product family combines MPLS-TP, MPLS/IP, SDH, and DWDM technologies, enabling them to meet all network needs on a scalable platform. The device's modular design facilitates expansion, and the installation of dedicated NFV cards allows for the provision of dedicated virtual network functions.

ECI NPT network security mechanisms

By supporting native TDM, the NPT product family allows service providers to gradually replace legacy technology with a new communication mode. A wide range of Neptune optical inserts are available for easy integration with WDM networks. Neptune offers a comprehensive set of security mechanisms for network services, covering every aspect of configuration based on the full range of technologies used. These mechanisms include: FRR (MPLS Fast ReRoute), PseudoWire Link Redundancy, Multi-Chassis LAG, Card Redundancy, and 1:1 Line Protection.

Protecting networks, services and the users they use

Network security mechanisms protect the entire transport network, individual services, and network clients. Neptune supports the following network security mechanisms: Broadcast Storm Control – protecting against DoS attacks based on broadcast traffic, Access Control List – resource access control lists, VPN Security – controlling access to packet content in individual virtual networks, L2CP flooding protection – protecting against DoS attacks based on the Layer 2 Control Protocol, MAC flooding protection, and Dynamic ARP inspection – protecting against ARP cache poisoning attacks.
